I want to go to the south pacific to chill ans snorkel. what's the best/inexpensive? I'll be going alone.

I'm traveling the 3rd week in June, for 11 days. I don't care where it is, as long as it's nice, safe, and has awesome snorkeling. I don't really want to go to Hawaii, some place off the beaten path would be great, this trip will also be therapeutic. I'm not looking for some insanely prices resort, just somewhere nice, close to the water, with great snorkeling, I plan on doing it for a min of 4 hrs a day. I'm willing to spend around $1500 +/- for airfare. Tell me where to go.. secluded, nice, quiet, safe, warm, clear calm waters, decent food, etc. Thanks! Scott
By south pacific, I mean tahiti, cook islands, marshall islands, etc. I have no interest in going to mexico, south or central americas either. Thanks!

1500+ for air fare?! dude, getting over there by cruise is the easier, cheaper and much more comfortable way to go! i visited Cozumel, Mexico and went snorkeling, its gorgeous! Belize (used to be Honduras) was in the package too, but i thought it was kinda dirty. so i would recommend Cozumel, and if you want to stay longer in Cozumel, you can. just get a plane ticket home. have fun!
