Is it better to live in the South or the Pacific Northwest?

Im considering moving to Charlotte, NC or Seattle, WA from California...any advice?

I cant speak for the south, but as I do live in Oregon I can attest to the spring and summer here are beautiful and there is no where else in the entire world I would rather be at this time of year. The rest of the year is pretty much spent in the rain, cold and darkness. If you suffer from seasonal depression or you get cabin fever easily in the winter, then the pac n.w. would probably not be a good choice for you. I was born and raised here and sometimes its tough for me to make it through the 9 months of darkness.
