Default Are earthquakes more likely to occur in the Pacific or Atlantic ocean areas?

I really need help with my homework!!! It's due tomorrow!!!

there are more fault lines in the pacific and therefore more likely to have one occur in the pacific...it does not hurt that this ocean is bigger

Pacific, because it's circled by the "Rim of Fire".....also known as "Ring of Fire":

....Plus there's the "Hawaiian Hot Spot", where magma comes up thru the center of the plate to create the Hawaiian Islands. The plate moves over the hot spot, causing new islands to be formed, like a chain.

pacifc, we have a lotr of fault lines and one really big one , the San andreas Fault, it is pver 800 miles long and atits deepest is ten feet into te ground

Earthquakes are more likely to occur in the Pacific due to alot of tectonic plate boundaries...when they move around and settle in they cause earthquakes... the Pacific Ring of Fire is the belt of volcanoes formed fromthese boundaries, these aren't the boundaries...

There are rarely ever earthquakes around the Atlantic, and there can be up to one hundred earthquakes a day near the pacific, due to the San Andreas Fault; the Pacific Plate sliding past the North American Plate.
