As soon as the flight takes off from a country for the destination of another country than during flying time if a new born baby takes birth in this situation the landing country would be considered his/her place of birth because as soon as plane lands all necessary medical help and facilities are provided by the concerned country on humanitarian ground.

birth place and citizenship are different.
Birth place is of course the area, so the child could say there birth place was... hawaii, tahiti etc, but it would be more fun to say the plane! Citizenship is more complex. An Aussie child born in China when mum and dad are on holidays is still an Australian, as the birth parents will have the child in a hospital (?) and then register the birth with the consulate. This child, born mid air would also be taken to hospital etc, but the parents then would register the birth with their home country. |
