where to go in the South Pacific?

What's the best place in the south pacific that would offer activities and so on for a family of four? We've heard that alot of these places are nice, but dont offer much to do. We were thinking of going for about two weeks, but are also considering going to Malaysia or New Zealand instead.
And we also want a reasonably priced holiday.

Fiji is the place to go. Its on your way to NZ or AUS and not to expensive. Many islands in the chain and different towns and settings. A great trip! check it out!
