I'll be starting off in San Diego and the plan is to fly over to New York and slowly make my way back to San Diego.
I really want to visit the following places: New York Boston Pittsburgh (Andy Warhol museum) Tennesse (Dollyworld) Washington DC I will either be using Amtrak, bus or hiring a car if I have to. I don't really want to fly. My main passion is photography so if anyone could suggest a great place and I like unusual places too. Thank you all for sensible answers. =) I also forgot to mention that I'm an art major so DC for me will be interesting to visit all the art galleries. I forgot to add Chicago to my list! I have already visited San Fran and would love to go back. |

If you will be in San Diego go four hours up north to Santa Barbara its absolutely beautiful and the weather is always amazing you won't regret it at all! Santa Barbara is a beach town thats always in the 70s or higher and has a beautiful mountain range so theres tons of hiking and so much to photograph and see and theres a lake. The beaches are beautiful also. And theres lots of little shops and a nice harbor.

In the Northeast use the Chinatown bus to get from Chinatown to Chinatown (NYC-DC-Philadelphia-Boston). http://www.chinatown-bus.org/
Thumbs up to Dollywood/Eastern Tennessee. You can very easily take Greyhound (or rent a car) from Dollywood to Asheville or Chattanooga to Atlanta to Savannah. http://www.greyhound.com/home/Default.aspx Add Savannah, GA to your list. Stay as close to the river (Bay St/River St) as possible. (I recommend the Days Inn.) If you like photographing architecture, people, cemeteries, or landscapes you'll love Savannah. It has the old south charm, great food, & a rich history. You can walk around old Savannah no problem (driving/parking is an issue), avoid New Savannah (sprawling suburbia). There are river boat, ghost, movie, & food tours for $15-$$$. Check out the Savannah College of Art & Design http://scad.edu/ museums while you're there. |
