Traveling from USA to Ireland, would my atame get taken if it is in my checked bags?

This question is very important, I need to know this before I travel home to Ireland. I got the atame not to long ago and I need to take it home. It is of religious value.

I'm confused. "Atame" is Spanish for "tie me" and there is a movie by that name. Are you referring to a DVD or to something you use to restrain someone/thing? Neither is illegal and shouldn't be confiscated. "Ateme" is a French video compression software... again not illegal.

Barring more specific information, you might want to put it in your carryon (if it fits) or simply mail it home ahead of time.

So long as it isn't a combustable substance (ie explosive like ammo) you can pack it in your checked baggage. Do not try to pack it in your carry-on. You will have a very bad experience if you do try to pack it in your carry-on. If it is that valuable, I would recommend shipping it with insurance.
