Default 90 days to travel USA?

I am currently in the USA travelling. I am allowed here for 90 days. I haven't finished my travelling but know I must leave the country and not overstay my 90 days. I don't need a visa from England for 90 days. How long would I have to leave the USA before I can return and continue my travel across the states. Do I have to return to England or can I maybe just leave to Canada or Mexico. How long would I have to leave for?

By all means you can *try* to leave for Canada or Mexico and then return to the United States but under no circumstances will you be given another 90 days, in fact you probabley will not get a single day of extension - this approach, while not illegal, is frowned upon by all and the chances of re-entry are slim-to-none, many hundreds of people attempt this each year, only to be denied entry.

The general rule is to spend as much time out of the U.S. as you do in it i.e. 90 days in and 90+ days out. The VWP was designed for short and/or frequent visits - not for prolonged periods of time.

It seems to me that you are traveling in the United States with an I-94 WT. As soon as you depart the United States you must surrender the I-94 WT. When you want to return to the United States to continue your travels you must ask for another I-94 WT. Believe me once you have departed the United States you have finished your traveling at least in the United States

Back to back trips to the US will be looked at for a Visa Waiver applicant. Especially if you go to Canada or Mexico and then re-enter. This is not considered a meaningful departure. We see people try this all the time. You could be a legitimate traveler, but so many people doing the wrong thing have made it bad for others. Sorry that is just the way it is. To be on the safe side, and if it is just to travel and see America, I would return home and come back at a later time and continue your travels.

I don t know how long you would need to leave the US for but leaving for Canada, Mexico or near by islands does not count as leaving and you would break the trems of visa wavier program you must return to a foreign country not bordering the US this is to stop people going into Canada and re entering the next day
