I currently live in London but want to work in the USA temporarily (maybe a year or so) just to gain some life experience.
I love America and the people who live there but have only visited here a few times on my holidays. I would love to be independant and meet new people! I know I have to apply for a temporary Visa...etc but don't really know where to start as I have no family in the States. If anyone has any advice on helping me acheive this, I would be so grateful... Thank you! www.myspace.com/officialnicole www.officialnicolebaker.com |

Hey Nicole, you should look into being an Au Pair. You know, the girls that come over to the US and provide child care for a year, in exchange for a plane ticket, a place to live, food, and a small wage. Just search on Au Pair on google, and find an Agency, they will take you through the process of getting an entry Visa. Its a great way to get to see some of the US, as most of your evenings and weekends will be off. And you will get to experience living with an actual American family, rather than just being a tourist. Good Luck!

Go to the USCIS site (typing that in a search bar should get you close) and find out the criteria for coming to the US on a work visa.
I know, in general, you have to provide a service that we have a critcial need to fill, that the US citizens aren't currently filling in the job market. Beyond that, I'm not sure. Good luck. |
