These can be people, landcapes, food well pretty much anything. Doesn't even have to be a visit from the US actually,from any other developed country will do. Preferably Metropolis to Metropolis

This is an interesting question. I'd have to say the three biggest similarities I've noticed in the past was the diversity among the people, the food can be similar, and use of technology.
