I was curious as to what fruits/other foods taste better outside the USA. I absolutely fell in love with pineapple and tomatoes in Panama. They are so much sweeter than the USA versions. Also cashew nuts in Panama have a slight fruity taste(no salt, just fire roasted). What are some of your good experiences with food outside USA? What would you recommend for traveling Americans to try?

All fruits taste better out side the US. that is if you are in a country that grows them. Because they have to export them to the US they pick them early and add preservatives so when you are in Panama, or for me Costa Rica the Pineapple, Mango's and papaya's are SO SWEET like i have never had them before because they let them naturally ripen and not add the preservatives
anyway.... if you travel to Asian countries DO NOT try the durian! it is the nastiest, smelliest fruit i have every experienced... blu... but try all the fruits they are all exotic and wonderful.... |
