The fact that you are married to a UK citizen is irrelevant, What is your citizenship ?

If you have the passport of a country which is not on the US's waiver list, then you'll need a visa. It is irrelevant whether or not you have UK residency or are married to a UK citizen.

You need to check whether your own country participates in the visa waiver programme. If your country is on the list, you do not need a visa. If your country is not on the list you do need a visa. Your immigration status in the UK does not count in the US.

You can check here

If you are eligible for visa waiver, apply here

Make sure that you use this site, ESTA is free and this is the official site, the other sites charge you.

Go here for info - https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/WebHelp/ESTA_Screen-Level_Online_Help_1.htm#Which%20countries%20partic ipate%20in%20the%20Visa%20Waiver%20Program?

If you are not on the list then forget about it.

You need to be a citizen or national of the UK to pass.
