Want to travel to the usa but have a criminal record?

Want travel to the US for summer, but have a criminal record last arrest 4 years ago, i am not the same person iw as then have different views on life my sisters is having her baby and would love to be there, will i be refused how does this all work . has anyone with a criminal record being accepted recently. How to they make this decision i ve done some stupid stuff in the past but i know now i would never get myself in certain situations

As long as your passport is valid and you are from a friendly country, there should be no problem.

Under new rules, anyone travelling to the USA must first go to the site to apply for entry. You will either be accepted or rejected. You MUST submit this form or you will be turned away.

apply for an ESTA online at the USA Embassy web site [UK if you are in UK] It's easy to fill in, free and actually it is now compulsory. It goes with an electronic passport.
You'll need your passport number and other details.
If you are accepted, you will get a reference number straight away, otherwise you will be referred to another visa site, and that would perhaps indicate you can't have a ESTA/visa so can't enter America

You appear to be from the UK. If yes, UK citizens are eligible for the Visa Waiver Program. However, the VWP cannot be used by anyone with a criminal record.

First, get some legal advice to confirm if whatever happened to you counts as a "criminal record" for purposes of the VWP. If yes, you will have to apply for a visa. If no you can use the VWP.

You very well could be turned away depending on the tye of crime you were convicted of. You will not be eligible to come under the Visa Waiver Program...so you do not need to register for the ESTA program. You need to see the sites below And you will need to apply for a B-2 tourist visa.
