I hear that USA President Barack Obama is lifting their travel restrictions and trade embargo with Cuba. When? In UK and Canada, I believe there have always been unhindered travel to Cuba, but USA had a restriction since 1961 (?).

When ?
Ask him. How can we know ? NOTE: Hum, interesting. What people talk about here is concerning THEY going to Cuba. Nobody gives a damn about the Cubans Recently somebody posted a similar question, and the chat was between ( they said ) canadians, british, yanks, etc, talking about going to Cuba to spend their vacations, have a nice time, and many other things of the sort They looked like the winners talking about how to share the spoils of the victory. Nobody. I repeat, NOBODY mentioned the Cubans not even by mistake. Good thing they make us realize that for them, we are not worth a penny ( a false one ). They don't care anything about us. We are totally meaningless |

There is a rumor about that. When ? Nobody knows
What we would like to know is WHY ? What do the USA believes they will win or is it only caused by sympathy to fidel ? Interesting. Looks that somebody here does not want yanks in Cuba. I must say that whether the yanks go to Cuba or not is only our decision. We decide who enters our country, not the foreigners. Oh, "the lifting of the embargo will weaken the regime, as they use it as an example of the American evils " It seems that somebody here thinks that fidel's regime is a castle made of cardboard. That shows a deep lack of knowledge of fidel's regime Thanks to the foreign experts in Cuban affairs, but save your knowledge for a TV conference about comunism |

There has been no such announcement. Some in Congress are pushing for this - but we have yet to see what will happen to their proposals.
However, even CANF are pushing for further relaxations in the restrictions - particularly those applying to Cuban-Americans. (And they certainly aren't friends of Castro.)http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/09/us/politics/09cuba.html?emc=eta1 |

It should have been lifted long ago but the REPUBLICANS who have been PAID FOR BY THE SUGAR GROWERS in South Florida... ARE AGAINST IT.
The truth is THE EMBARGO HAS NOT WORKED... the only people who want to visit Cuba who have not visited Cuba are the AmeriKans who are too dumb to know how to go through a third country to get there. I have been to Cuba 3 TIMES in the past 10 YEARS as have maybe a million or two other Amerikans who just thumb their noses at those stupid laws about going there. It's AmeriKa and AmeriKans who are the ISOLATED ONES.. not CUBA because all the rest of the world can go there without having to do it through an intermediate country. CUBA LIBRE... DE BAJO DE AMERIKA |

We don't know. No idea
NOTE: "It should have been lifted long ago, but the republicans, etc, etc" Where did you hear that ? Last night soap opera ? Well, joe, those republicans are not the only ones against lifting the embargo. Why should the embargo be lifted ? And why the yanks want to go there ? To visit fidel and give him their respects ? Who cares whether they go there or not ? Right. Absolutely correct that part. There is NO EMBARGO. The whole world, his wife and children go to visit Cuba and pay homage to the Coma Andante. Only ones that want it to be removed are the comunists to make fidel happy in its last days among the living "VIVA CUBA LIBRE !" I fully agree, but joe, Cuba IS IN America. Man, you failed the Geography class, no ? |
