Where you live is of no consequence, it is your nationality that counts. (Unless you want to travel to Israel, they do not let you in if you're traveling from certain countries regardless of your nationality.) Go on the Internet and find out. Simply www.egypt.com or type >traveling to Egypt< and you will find all you need. If you do require a visa you will get it trough an Egyptian Consulate or the Egyptian Embassy in Washington DC. And es, as an American Citizen you need a visa to ravel to Egypt.

hallo,
yes, visa is required for you but it's not necessary to apply for it in advance, you can buy it on arrival. if you have a wish to apply for visa in the US, here is the link to the embassy contact information http://egypt.visahq.com/embassy/United-States |

Cheryl, what Ruby said is true and IS the cheapest way to deal with an Egyptian Visa. You will not be denied. Just go to the visa counter upon arrival at Cairo or where ever you land.
They will give you a visa instantly. I just did it for myself in October 2007, it was easy and a pleasure to deal with vs. getting it through the embassy in NY (which I did last time). |
