I'm female, 20 years old, caucasian, from the UK.
Thinking of going from London to San Francisco, and spending some time in California for a while, then taking an internal flight to Georgia to see a friend I lived with at college last year when she was on an exchange, then to New York for a week or so before returning to the UK. I want some comments please - costs of internal flights if you're from the US, comments on what you think of this plan, safety, other ideas, cost etc? |

If you book at least three weeks in advance you can get some cheap flights internally. Look at airlines like southwest and jetblue as well as the regulars. Delta has a lot of flights through Atlanta, Georgia. It is safe. Just don't be out late by yourself in iffy neighborhoods.

Within the US, try Delta and AirTran for flying to/from Atlanta. Southwest and JetBlue don't fly to Atlanta.
When flying to/from California and New York, check alternative airports as well as the big ones like JFK and SFO. One-way flights from California to Atlanta are about $150 to $200 depending on when you fly. One-way flights from Atlanta to any of the New York airports are about $75. |
