What do want to see or do in Canada? Both AB and BC have great skiing. Vancouver is a much more cosmopolitan city than either Calgary or Edmonton, but those cities have their good points as well.

I have lived in both Edmonton and Calgary - they are ok. BC to me, is much more interesting. I am an outdoorsy person so there is so much for me to do on the west coast. There is the ocean, the mountains, a large city..etc. The scenery is beautiful on the coast! There are the old growth forests (HUGE temperate rain forest trees), there are potentially whales (depends on the time of year that you come). There is the west coast trail too, which allows you to choose easy to advanced hiking trails through some of the most beautiful scenery in Canada.

If you stay in Vancouver, there are nifty little areas of the city that are of interest (shopping, more hiking, scenery, pubbing, etc) If you go to Tofino (on Vancouver Island) you can try surfing. You can go up to the Queen Charlotte islands which is amazing to visit..

There is just so much to do there!

Hope that helps

BC is the greatest hands down but the legal drinking age is 19 and in Alberta it's 18. Not sure if that'll make a difference to you guys but it's good to know if you'll be wanting to hit the town. If it doesn't matter than BC is definitely the place to go.

Have fun!!
