Do Orbitz. I searched on like five of the different travel sites looking for tickets to Tucson last month and Orbitz had the best ones all the time.

Try this overseas site for Vancouver which is popular with tourists. You may get better rates than the local sites:

You can sort the hotels from cheapest to highest, star rating and lcoation.

Vancouver:http://www.cheaperthanhotels.com/Canada/Vancouver/

For flights just type in your origin and destination into the search engine and compare prices with the responding websites. also check the airlines for better deals.

I was there during December and I found a great B&B wich is clean and best of all is cheaper than youthhostels and you dont need to share room. Try:

www.shaugnessyvillage.com

Its not in down town but it is close form Grandville St. you can walk to Grandville Island or just take a bus to downtown. Its offers a great view and has a lot of facilities.

I flew alaska airlines.

Depends where you fly out of and what time of year but I always go on the travel sites expedia, travelocity etc and find the cheapest fare then take it to flight center and they will beat it.

My parents stayed in Richmond, which was 5min from the Vancouver airport, only around 15min from downtown Vancouver.

They stayed at the Accent Inn.
It's right beside the main highway that goes through Vancouver, Hwy. 99. That will also take you to Whistler, and can also take you to the ferries, onto Vancouver Island.
