How long can I stay in Canada when I go to visit? My husband will not be traveling w/us so do I need a notarize permission letter from him for my son to enter Canada? What documents do I need to have for my vehicle for verifications? I want to make sure I have everything I need because I am driving all the way from Texas to Canada.

You will need proof of citizenship for you and your son - this can be a birth certificate, passport, et al.
They recently changed the law requiring all children under 17 to have a passport to get to Canada, so a birth certificate is all that is required for him. Canada doesn't require permission papers for your son if you are not divorced - if you have a different last name than him, though, your son will probably be questioned as to who you are and why you are travelling. |
