Depends on how far west you are going. In Saskatchewan stop in Moose Jaw. The Tunnels of Moose Jaw are not to be missed. There are two tours showing how the tunnels under the city were used and they are fantastic. There are a lot of other wonderful things to do there as well. We were there for a long weekend and didn't get everything done.
In Alberta there is a ton to do.
Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump
Then up to Calgary Depends again as to when you will be here. There is the Calgary Stampede in July of course.
Heritage Park, Calaway Park, the Zoo is awesome, Fort Calgary, Theatre Calgary on and on I could go.
Then you are off to Kananaskis, Banff and Jasper in the Rockies. There are too many things there to mention but a few of the not to miss are of course Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, Morraine Lake, the Columbia Icefields and every viewpoint in between.
The Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper is one of the most scenic drives in the world. However, it's not open in the winter months for the most part - just too much snow.
