What form of identification do I need for travel to and from Canada by land in 2007?

I assume you are in the U.S. I believe you need a passport now.

You need proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport and proof of residency such as a drivers license. Unless you are on a green card in the US, then you will need your green card at the border.

If you are an American, only a driver's license and birth certificate. Passport is good, but not required. The only rules you need to worry about are getting back in to the US.

If you are a single parent, bring custody documents giving permission to take your kids across the border.
