Right now, i think you just need a DL, but I would suggest getting a passport. the regulations are changing in the new future, requiring a passport to re-enter the US from anywhere, so spend the extra money, and get your passport...

Right now just a license but recent news stories say that they can deny you , I would get your passport so you don't find yourself being denied.

Good Luck

If you have a passport, bring it. If you do not, your driver's licence and a birth certificate. Passports are not required to drive across the border until 2008.

Currently all that is need to cross the border into Canada by car is your driver's license and birth certificate. Beginning on January 1, 2008 people traveling by car will be required to carry a passport.

Also, contact your car insurance agent to tell them that you'll be driving in Canada. They will give you a Canadian Non-Resident insurance card. This will prevent your car from being impounded if you should get into an accident.

Happy Travels!
