My boyfriend is traveling to Canada and US?

My boyfriend wants to travel to canada but doesnt know when he wants to come home... he's going spend a few months there then come down to visit me in the US at the end then buy his ticket home when he gets here... Will immigration in Canada and US allow that?

As long as he doesn't spend more than 6 months he should be okay.

If he intends to spend an extended time in Canada, he will need a VISA (and I don't mean a credit card). He can check with Customs and Revenue at the Canadian border crossing to learn what the length of time is. They are the same in Canada as your Customs and Immigration in the US. US Immigration won't have a problem with him returning home. He does realize that he needs a passport at this time to return to the US and will need one to come to Canada very soon, correct?

He just needs a travel visa for each country.

Im not totaly sure but I think he will need to buy a round trip ticket, especially depending on which country he is coming from, and then make a flight change accordingly
