If I travel to the Dominican Republic from Canada and bring back extra alcohol, what would it cost?

Check with customs. It probably won't cost you anything if you just put it in your booked luggage. Coming from one of many vacations to Pakistan back to the US, they didn't show much concern unless somebody's package really was suspicious. If it just contained clothing and the usual stuff, they couldn't have cared less.
