Both Canada and the United States speak English. In some parts of Canada such as Quebec and New Brunswick French is spoken but English is understood.I love the American/Canadian dictionary idea though.

Canadians speak English. There is no language called, "American". In the United States, we speak English - however we have our own multiple dialects of English, as they do in Canada.

In Quebec, the language spoken is French. So, if you intend to travel there, get an English to French dictionary.

Great Question.

I love the phony questions that get Canadians in a tizzy.

It brightens my day.

'Do they speak American?' That's a classic.

If you ever find an American/Canadian dictionary, I would LOVE to buy one.
