yeah, as a US citizen I don't think you need a visa to travel to Canada.
I heard something about having your passport now as they might check for it, if you're flying there. But otherwise, there is nothing wrong with going to Canada to visit your fiance!!! Ok people from US go to Canada all the time to see the Niagara Falls. So TOP CONTRIBUTOR -Marc X needs to get his facts straight! I have family in Buffalo who drive 2 hrs to Toronto every weekend to do shopping and eat out, so thats BS that US citizens can't visit Canada !! |

Strange question. U.S. citizens do not have a RIGHT to visit Canada. Canada is very lenient in PERMITTING U.S. citizens to visit.
However, the K1 visa that you refer to is for her to enter the U.S. and and doing so before the visa is processed could entail problems. Still, it has nothing to do with you going to Canada or you coming back, either. A hint, though, if you marry her there, then your K1 is useless and you'll need then apply for a K3 visa for her. |

You don't have the right to enter any country other than your own but if you don't have a criminal past you should have no trouble visiting Canada. Waiting for a K-1 is horrible and if you can get up there to visit then do it. Even a weekend together is better than nothing. Your partner is more likely to be refused entry to the US than you be refused entry to Canada as after all you have no intention of immigrating to Canada.

i totally agree with freebird. you can travel to canada to see your fiance while her visa is pending. it is your partner who is not able to enter the US.
when my husband filed for my spousal visa, i could not enter the US at all. he had to drive up and see me every weekend for 2 years... a year when we were in a relationship... and another year when we were married and waiting for the visa. |
