If traveling by CAR to Canada will I need a passport after the 1st of the year?

I live in Ohio, and I was curious if after the first of the year if traveling by car if I would need a passport to get into Canada?

I have read if you were to FLY there you would, but what about driving?

I'm pretty sure. I thought they switched it long ago, that you do need one.

the answer is yes..and you should of started applying 4+ months prior to your trip.. since there has been a rush on passports for work and everyday travelers.

I'n not really understanding....are you driving there and back on a constant basis? if so theres a program you can sign up fro and you are diverted to a special lane at the borders in which you just show identification and you are let through MUCH faster. So i assume you do need a passport.
