where are you?

if you're somewhere in the states, you can cross a border with a driver's liscense or some sort of valid id.

I don't know if you need a visa to enter into canada, I don't think so, as long as you don't stay for too long, you should be fine.

Where is your uncle?

You can fly into somewhere near where he lives, or you can drive. If you want more details or ideas about driving or flying, you can e-mail me where you are and where he is and I can help more.

As for what you need, it completely depends on where you're going.

It is warm in Canada, contrary to what many people believe. We have hot summers and since we're in summer, shorts, skirts, tshirts, bathing suits, maybe a sweater and jeans incase you get some cold nights, sunscreen and bug spray and you should be fine.

the west coast is more rainy, so you'd prob need an umbrella too.

The prairie provinces (alberta, saskatchwan, manitoba) are very hot, and not that humid, and really flat until you hit the mountains in alberta. if you're going to the mountains, bring climbing gear and cameras and all that stuff.

Bring a camera anyway. canada's beautiful.

Southern Ontario is prettly humid and hot (ie, today we have a humidex of 40º), with tons of beaches everywhere you look, Toronto and most of Canada's larger cities are in this area,
Niagara falls is here too. Always worth a look

The Northern areas of most provinces are cottage country, so lots of lakes, lots of forests, lots of camping, canoeing and all that stuff that Canada's famous for.

Québec is french speaking, so if you're going to Quebec, heads up on that one. It's also more rooted in history and Roman Catholicism.

The maritime provinces are beautiful too, awesome coasts, wildlife, etc.

Everyone in Canada is friendly for the most part, and willing to help and talk.

Just so you know, it takes about 42 hours to drive straight from Vancouver to Toronto. Canada is massive. Don't plan on a lot of jumping around from place to place unless they're really close together.
