Im going to be flying to Canada at the end of May, and was wondering if I would be ok traveling with just my driver's license and birth-certificate. Thank you much. Oh, and Im also a U.S. citizen.

Proof of your U.S. citizenship such as your U.S. passport (For information on obtaining a U.S. passport, check with one of the regional passport agencies located throughout the U.S.) or certified copy of your birth certificate issued by the city, county or state in the U.S. where you were born. If you are a naturalized U.S. citizen and do not have a passport, you should travel with your naturalization certificate. A driver’s license, voter’s registration card or Social Security card is NOT valid proof of citizenship.

Photo identification, such as a current, valid driver’s licens
(Note: after December 31, 2006 the following applies):
Travelers to and from Canada will be required to have a U.S. passport or other secure, accepted document to enter or re-enter the United States. For land border crossings to Canada, other documents that we anticipate will be acceptable are NEXUS and FAST program cards. No other document is currently available that will be an acceptable substitute for a U.S. passport, NEXUS or FAST card.

...just give them some beer (Elsinore beer!) at customs and you'll be fine.

(bring your passport just in case)

At the present time all you need is driver's license and birth certificate, so you should be fine. I cross the border once a week and thats all thats required. The law is changing soon though.

Thats all you need. I have done it.

Enjoy your trip.
You will be interviewed at the airport but it's short and sweet.

You will be asked to show your passport at the airport. The passport is the legal, official document.

All you need is your birth certificate and drivers license or state id. Starting in 2007 you'll need a passport though.
