What should you take into consideration culturally when travelling in the Middle East?

Show as much respect as you can. Ever seen the show, "locked up abroad"? that's why im skeptical about leaving the country.

Depends on where you're going. To not make any huge mistakes I think you should get a travel guide and learn the local customs.

Definitely no drugs. If you are a woman do not dress like a streetwalker or you will be treated like one.

Each country is different and some are really relaxed. I would get a guide or read up on the internet for each country that you are visiting to get the local customs.
One thing that is pretty much the same for all is not to show too much skin ie short skirts and low tops for girls.

Dress modestly, don't drink alcohol, at least not in the street. Don't stare at people wearing cultural clothing, don't look women in the eye when speaking, lower your gaze.

dress modestly, respect their laws, dont shake hand with a woman unless she makes the first move (if ur a man - and vice versa) if u go in somones house always take yr shoes off before entering, dont show the soles of yr feet and always ensure u eat with right hand only.

Respect their culture and religion because its very important to them but they general are very nice people.

Dress sensibly, just nothing too out of the ordinary.

Sometimes the people can be a bit sensitive but generally they've got great personalities and they're really welcoming, especially to the tourists. at least thats what i've experienced

But i love the Middle East it's my favourite continent and you'll love it too!

If you're nice to them, they'll be nice to you.
