Im planning a round the world trip which ends in the middle east. Thinking of travelling this area independently maybe some over land. The countries im planning to visit are Yemen, Oman, Egypt, Bahrain, Qatar, Syria, Jordan , Israel.
Is it possible to obtain visas from the relevant airports? Or am I advised to apply here in the Uk before travelling there? I really would like to avoid sending my passport in to all these consulates as they may lose it , therefore delaying my round the world holiday. Please advise best course of action. Would really appreciate serious answers. Many thanks in advance |

I'm a Canadian, and I went to the United Arab Emirates and Oman, and I didn't have to work on getting a visa before I arrived as long as I was just visiting. When I arrived at the Airport, they basically just stamped my passport and I went through. Travelling between the two, there was a bit more work, as I was in the UAE for 5 months and had to travel into Oman 4 times to renew my visa. I had to get a retnal scan when re-entering the UAE. I know that British Commonwealth nations, for the most part you don't need a visa to travel inbetween if you are from a British Commonwealth nation. This was a couple years ago, so you may need more current information, but hope this helped a little.

I'd like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it's hard to understand why people don't stay home.
Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home. |
