Nothing in Bible tells us it was an apple. All we know is that it was a fruit of some sort. How it became known to be an apple is beyond me. Nevertheless, there are mountains in the Middle East and apples could grow at the cooler elevations. But again, we have no idea what kind of fruit it was.

The Bible doesn't say what the fruit actually was. It has become a traditional belief that the apple was the fruit, but it's just folklore. Bottom line, no one knows what the fruit actually was. BTW the Middle East is not tropical by any means, look at a map.

If you are referring to the forbidden fruit they ate that brought sin into the world, then I have to tell you that you are wrong. No where in the Bible does it say the fruit was an apple. It says the "forbidden fruit". No, they didn't have to travel because the "Garden of Eden" had all they needed and the tree was in the center of the Garden. The serpent tempted Eve and then she gave it to Adam and he too ate of it. Both sinned and both caused the hard work to survive and hard time in child birth to be.
