Mad Myrna's is the bar to be at. Two dance floors, a huge bar, tons of wild gay and gay friendly people dancing to hip-hop in one room and who knows what in the other. Pool tables. Sometimes a drag show or something of that nature.
On the web: www.alaska.net/~madmyrna/ Also, there is the MCC church, full of friendly glbt folk: www.mccanchorage.com And, Out North, a glbt themed theater (live theater) www.outnorth.org More links and Anchorage GLBT information can be found at www.identityinc.org And while you're in Anchorage be sure to go to a Kaladi Brother's coffee house. They have the best ooffee in town and the coffee houses are fun and full of glbt/glbt friendly people. |

There are a few gay bars but the last time I was there was in 2003 so I don't remember where they are/if they're even still open.
For a nice restaurant, try the Snow Goose. They are a microbrewery with several beers on tap, plus their house special root beer. If it's open, sit on the roof. You get a beautiful view of the city. |
