Is it safe for gay people to travel to the Bahamas?

Yes, but I would keep the PDA's down to a minimum. The bahamas is a christian community, and quite homophobic.

I'm not saying you have to hide, just don't be insensitive to the beliefs of others.

There is a "thug" element at some local clubs that are quite intolerant. So stick with the hotel resort clubs for partying.

Probably safe at the hotel, but if you behave in that typical gay manner in town, especially at night there are people who will take offense and kick the crap right outta you.

Yes, you will be safe if you stay under the radar. Don't be demonstrative in public because not every one is kind these days. This goes for a straight couple too. Major Hotel or not be careful.

I'm sure the large resorts are safe, but largely speaking the Caribbean is not the most gay friendly destination. Some countries, up till recently, even banned gay cruise lines from stopping at their ports, not to mention Jamaican music lyrics that are virulently homophobic.

But if you're careful, I'm sure you can still have fun.
