Where is it in Mexico that its a blessing to have a gay son? I read it in a travel magazine. Oaxaca ?

It was some kind of Indian village where there belief is that St. Somebody had a bunch of gays in a bag to distribute throu out mexico and all of the gays jumped out in one place. It said that the gay son will be wealthy and always take care of the family , so they dress him like a girl from a very young age.

Never heard of this one. But, in some indigenous tribes they revere hermaphrodites, which are fairly rare. They are considered god like and often imerge as Shamans.

Juchitán, in Oaxaca. Never heard the story about the saint before, though. Women are the stronger sex there, so men pretend to be women in order to get the same benefits (drink, stay out late, control the money in the house, etc). Great place!
