Food network rocks. i watch it almost every night before i go to bed. i like the challenges because well i don't know why...plus, i'm in bed so i'm not tempted to get up and go eat something. but then i do watch it in the afternoons.

Discovery and animal planet. It's both informative and entertaining.

I mostly watch the Food Network because it is very interesting and some of the recipes they make sounds very delicious. I like some of the cooking hosts on there. At Thanksgiving and Christmas I watch it because each host makes something and brings it to the table where they all gather around.

You forgot the History Channel. They have shows like the History of Drugs, Ice Truckers, and The Universe. Very cool beans :) I watch that channel the most and Animal Planet comes in at a close second. Travel Channel comes in third with Bizarre Foods and I watch Discovery every now and again.

When I do get the chance to stay home and watch tv:

Out of the ones listed in the question and in other's answers, I've gotta say: Travel Channel.

And the History Channel comes in 2nd.

Then Food Network.

For me, I like the Travel channel because even though i haven't traveled far enough (at least not yet) i like seeing far off places like Greece, Italy, and mainly countries in Europe and Asia and the Pacific. I do want to travel to all those places some day.

History Channel - has a few interesting ones. and others that i always wondered about...and wanted to learn about.

Food Network - i love "The Best Of.." and Unwrapped. :)
