Can somebody tell me what could I possibly take for a child who is 9 months old and is fed twice on formula milk and the rest are all home made food. Am travelling for 4 days out of which 3.0 days is travelling in train and rest at some hotel. I am quite perplexed as to what to take for the baby i dont want to take commercial food, that would be the last option. Any other ideas? Many Thanks.

I traveled with my son when he was 2 months old. Mix baby cereal with the formula so he won't be as hungry, also check with the train and hotel people and see if they offer any type of services for baby's. If anything else ask them if they have a refrigerator and buy or make the baby food and store the unused portions in the refig

Just hand over food from your plate.
As long as you watch for salt, sugar and processed foods, your baby can eat what you eat. My baby is nearly one and has never eaten puree, I started feeding her from my plate from six months of age and she's been feeding herself real food ever since. We went away on holiday when she was eight months and I took no food with us for her. She ate from our plates each mealtime, with fruit snacks and milk feeds in between. She ate grilled fish, jacket potatoes, meat pies, salads, cooked vegetables, corn on the cob, lasagne, chicken sandwiches, everything I ate. It's much less stress! |

Hi, do you have a baby food mill? It's very convenient for traveling. Just like the other person suggested, take the food you're eating, put some into the baby food mill, and grind it into baby food for your little one. Kidco makes a pretty good baby food mill and it even comes with a little traveling case. You can pick one up at Babies R Us for pretty cheap.

first of all I will spare you some anxiety babies don't generally eat as well when they travel be sure to bring familiar things even if they look ragged and worn .formula should be manageable do you have a local health food store? a few organic foods in packages should be light and air tight a small baby food grinder would be nice your best bet so you don't expose you baby to any food allergy or bacteria is to have one time use foods waters and formula and call the train company you are riding with and ask questions about the water the stops and anything extra they provide for moms traveling with an infant and ask about added costs for service and ask if they have any suggestions to make your trip more pleasant
