I'm in Colorado. Most of the motels here allow pets for a small fee. Last time I took mine it was $5 a night for the dog. Many even have dog runs so you can let them get exercise and fresh air. Some of the hotels allow them, but none I've been to have runs.

check out AAA for pet friendly motels....I think they have a booklet on it....also try Humane Soc of the US HSUS..........do an online search...........also the AAA Tour Books normally indicate if a place accepts pets....you are GOOD people!!!! A pet is part of the family!.........just don't make the trip too stressful...if it is for a short time it is sometimes best to have your pet stay with a FAMILIAR family friend or relative...Don't just leave them home with someone to check on them!

Travelodge's welcome dogs. Many other motels do also though you have to ask each individual place. Some Best westerns do and some don't. Expect to give a deposit or pay a fee.
Be sure to bring plenty of water from where you live with you for the dog. Different water can and often does make dogs sick when introduced too quickly. |
