Default I am travelling with my 5 month old to see family in toronto. How do i manage without a bassinet in the flight

Its a 10 hr journey with a halt. It seems so daunting, especially with the airline not being helpful with information. I bought my tickets online.

Try a Maya Wrap. They are awesome for carrying infants and comfortable for the mother. Getting one before the flight may prove difficult, but if you can then I would strongly encourage you to consider and read about a Maya Wrap.

As a flight attendant myself, I can tell you that the best thing you can do is purchase an additional seat for your baby that way you can take your car seat and let your baby sleep there. not only is it convient but is also the safest way for your baby to travel. you can get the additional ticket for half the price, since is for a child. good luck in your trip.

I ALSO RECOMMEND THE MAYA WRAP. FOR HEAVENS SAKE WHY BUY ANOTHER SEAT. BABYS SLEEP JUST FINE ON THE MOTHERS CHEST LISTENING TO THEIR HEARTBEAT. THE FLIGHTATTENDENT IS SIMPLY TRYING TO MAKE A SALE. BUT THEN YOU HAVE TO DECIDE. AND I AM SURE YOU WILL. YOUR HANDS WILL BE FREE. JUST TRAVEL LIGHT OTHERWISE. ENJOY YOUR FLIGHT

I agree completely with the flight attendant who posted above. You would never dream of taking your baby on a 10-hour car trip without a car seat. A plane goes so much faster and you can usually see obstacles in the road but you cannot see turbulence. An unrestrained baby can easily slip from her mother's arms and get hurt. Purchase an additional seat for the baby and carry your child's car seat onto the airplane. The seat belts buckle to the car seat just like lap-belts on a car do. You will be more comfortable and your child will be far safer.
