I'm travelling to Cuba for one month and am looking for a host family to stay with. How do I find one?

I've tried some "international host family" websites and none of them have options in Cuba.
I'm a Canadian citizen so I shouldn't have any problems

If you're a US citizen, I wouldn't go there. The government is really clamping down on the embargo and unless you can prove you are fully hosted (and the government assumes you're not, you have to prove it) you could face stiff fines and jail. It's not worth it.

That is where I stayed in july. This very sympathic doctor (48 years) and his mother, which really is a very friendly person, rent two rooms with all confort you need: Air conditioned, with your private bathroom, cleaned up every day. They make you breakfast on demand. The room is 30 CUC (cuban convertibel pesos, so around 30 dollars) by night. The help you to find addresses or with anything you would like to know.
It's very central, near the famous 23th street and to Habana Libre hotel or "Coppelia" for example, in Vedado, the best area in Habana if you ask me (because in this area, there is ALWAYS water and light, which is not always the case in other areas...). So, you can reach good dancing places, bars, family restaurants ("paladares") and everything by foot. And Old Havana ("Habana Vieja") is like 3 or 4 dollars by taxi and 10 minutes away.

But in this apartment (Eloisa), you will be alone. This can be an advantage, but also an inconvenient: finally, I prefered the house of Edelia and Alfredo, because this was a possibility to speak with this family and they helped me out for everything.
