My bf wants to get married, he is an engineer and i have I'm a realtor. He wants to travel the world rather than having children....with the possibility of adopting later in life. I'm 24, he is 25. I'm the type of person that doesn't like change and I'm not certain I want the same thing as him...I want a family and also to be close to my relatives. What would you choose and why?

As young as you two are, you could easily have both...travel a few years, then go home and start a family. Say even if you traveled for 10 yrs you'd still not be too old to start having kids.
It's really up to you though. You say you don't like change and are more of a homebody type...I've never had interest in having kids and think traveling the world with my "honey" would be awesome. Best wishes, whatever path you choose☺ |

You have to think about what you truly want. You can't just give that up because it's not the same as what he wants. I know it's a hard decision, but you have to be true to yourself or you will not be happy in the long run.
Personally, I would have chosen "travel the world" when I was in my 20's, but now in my 30's and married to a great man and carrying my first child--I wouldn't give this up for the world. |

I think if you two were to get married, someone would hold onto resentment for not being able to live out their dreams.
I think you two need to find other people that are more like minded in your personal goals. For myself, I'd rather travel. That is more exotic than changing a messy diaper and cleaning house. |
