Hi all... i will be travelling to dammam wid family in a few days time. Want to know about the lifestyle?

hi... i will be travellign to dammam for a job in the city.. i am planing to take accomodation in khobar or some private compound.. can anybody tell me how much rent will i have to pay for the compound & is there any sort of restricition on living in the compounds... also, hows the lifestly in dammam.. i have lived in dubai for 2 years or so... thanks for the answers :)

Maybe the Shargiyyah people here can help. All what I know is that Al Khubar is more ,newer, open, and more organized etc than the more traditional Dammam.

Hi welcome to the Eastern Province. The rents in the compounds have gone up and are now in the 110000 to 150000 range. There are some compounds which have lower rent but there no vacant villas. There is an over all shortage of accomodation these days. New buildings are coming up as well as new compounds but the house s are booked even before they are completed and there is a long list. Life style is as most of Saudi Arabia but Alkhobar is a little bit more relaxed. Most of us go to Bahrain over the weekend, otherwise it is work, home, shopping, kids and sleep. Nothing special. No there is no restriction on living in compounds if you are lucky to find one, I changed compounds recently and I had to wait 6 months for this one.
