will high gas prices be affecting (or eliminating) your family's summer travel plans?

They certainly will affect - actually, eliminate ours! That's for sure! We pretty much won't be able to drive anywhere except to go to work and buy groceries, as we live 15 miles away from where we work and the nearest grocery store. We usually drive to different towns in our state (Nebraska) to see family members, but at $60 to fill up my car - it isn't happenin this year. We're pretty much staying home and only driving to work and to the store (and only to the store when necessarry!). How about ya'll?
TAD - haha - that's funny. Yeah, I hear ya on the vacation thing - I havn't had a vacation in 8 years! lol! When we go to visit family, it's in the same state and we make it a one day trip - there and back in the same day! lol! Yeah, these gas prcies are ridiculous - I don't see how anyone can afford to "go on as normal" as far as traveling goes - heck - it costs $60 to fill up my little 2 door chevy cavalier! I just can't believe that there's people out there who make so much money that it won't affect them in the least, unless they normally don't do any driving! That's nutso!

Nope not in the least. Our summer is completely unaffected.

no..we bought our tickets a long time ago to italy to visit family..and im getting married this summer so im also going on a cruise..but as far as driving yes lol i try to avoid driving unless its necessary

not elininate but it will affect them. we won't be able to do our normal summer activities. i usually bring my younger sis and bro to maine and go camping but we might not be able to. espically since i still have to drive to work. i'm also getting married in june so money will be a little tight.

sort of, we camp for 6 weeks and we live like 20 miles from the lake. We usually run back and forth for different things. This year we better get it all when we leave because I am not driving back at these prices, lol. So it does in some cases

It will make us stay at the campground instead of driving to town for food and to eat out. I made a flip book of things we need to take. We will be doing everything possible to not drive anymore than necessary. We pull a pop up camper with a Silverado. Even garage sales are being carefully mapped out before we go. Luckily we live close enough to the mall and grocery stores to walk. Even my Aerostar takes a lot to fill it up. If I drive it once a week it is a lot.
