Austin is a great area! If you are going to be there in late spring or summer when its warm enough to swim you should to go the Schlitterban Water Park south of Austin in New Braunfels. Have fun!

Restaurants - Chuy's, Amy's Ice Creams (a must with kids!), Kirby Lane Cafe, Magnolia Cafe

Places: Barton Springs Pool, Zilker (you can rent a canoe cheap to row on lake travis at Zilker, great for kidos, also there is a kids train to ride around the park), walks in "the green belt", for movies check out an Alamo Drafthouse theater where you can order dinner while you watch the movie, very fun.

Austin is awesome!!!

A variety of places will afford you a mix of the culture and well result in a memorable visit. Tour The Capital Building and be sure to take one of the guided tours. Enjoy Zilker Park and Barton Springs all togeather and the pride of Austin. Drive through The University of Texas Campus. Eat a great Hamburger and Onion Rings at Huts'on sixth street. A walk down East Sixth Street should be exciting for teens and young adults. The Bob Bullock Museum of Texas History and The Texas State Museum on the University Campus could be considerations. There are several Shopping Malls . Barton Creek mall would be the better choice. These are all interesting things to see in Austin.
