Would you travel to Romania, Europe?

As a romanian citezen I am desapointed of what I see on TV, that the country is known only as for the birthplace of Dracula!!! Romania is a wonderful country , beautiful landscapes especialy in spring and winter, history , friendly people ( of course are also unfriendly people or bad things happen but this is every where! This is the world we live in... ) I have searched in US a book about Romania and i can say that from what i have read and seen IT WOULD NOT CONVINCE me to go there... so probably the Goverment does not care to much in promoting the beauty too ... Well I shall wait for your answer everyone!

I would, it seems like a nice place! As you say everywhere has its problems but I think that people generally think that Romania has more bad than good. But yes I would definately be interested in travelling there to visit the cities, countryside and go skiing! :)

My oldest son has been there numerous times and describes it as beautiful as well as filled with business interests..

I believe that every place has its good points and bad points. I live in the USA and I am a citizen of the USA. To tell you the truth, I have seen so much and been threw more than I can think of while being here. If I knew about the USA what I know now and I was a foreigner, I don’t think I would want to visit the USA. Now I have seen beautiful things here. Waterfalls and rivers that would make the ugliest of things here seem like nothing. I have lived in good and bad places of the United States and I have stories of both good and bad to tell of them. The place that you visit is what you make of it. I believe in giving every place a chance no matter what books and others say of going there. I say that because, each person and what they like is different from the next. I have been to horrible places that others have loved... I have been to wonderful places that others gave bad reviews about. Going someplace new is like being with your soulmate... or a best friend. You never know what will happen, you have to keep a positive open mind about everything and everyone... you may see something special about a person or a place that someone else missed. Then again you may see a flaw that is unappealing to you. I would visit only because I love to travel, I have an open mind, and I have a good heart to see and appreciate things that others don’t, cant and won’t give a chance.

I would love to go there....in fact I was just talking about Romania as a place to go to the other day!
I lived in the UK for a while so I could travel europe, but there are so many places I want to see still and Romania is right up there actually.....after I went to Croatia and Slovenia and saw how pretty it was and how much history was there, it made me look at other places further east like Hungary ( I want to go there too), poland and Romania.
Apart from hearing its very pretty and dracula and the forests there I know very little about it...so I should learn more for my own benefit.
