Not too long ago, I was serving in Kosovo (FROY), and had the opportunity to work with Romanian soldiers. They get a little testy when you question them about Vlad Teppes/Dracula. It would be a good idea to forget about werewolves as well.

If you come to Romania then I should congratulate you for your choice! It's perhaps the cheapest and the best vacation you can have.
Now, let me tell you sights I'd prefer to visit (being a romanian, I know): first of all, the Red Lake and the surroundings ( http://www.itinerar.ro/Bicaz/index.htm ), Bran Castle ( http://www.itinerar.ro/Bran/ ), Peles Castle, not far away from Bran (http://www.brasovtravelguide.ro/bv-en/surroundings/peles.php - it is awesome!!!), monasteries from the north-east of the country are also very impressive, Sighisoara city (http://www.sighisoara.com/ - see the photo gallery <galerie foto>), Danube river. These are just a few of them. Come and you'll see it for yourself. :)

You find plenty of information over the internet.
depends what you like to see, museums/art or nature.. i can recommend the delta of danube for the unique feeling, "mamaia" on the seaside, for having fun, the mountains, the monasteries in moldavia, there is a lot to see. if you want to see bucharest contact me
