It depends on how you plan to move and live there for that time. I can travel for just $10 a day... ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD... but I know how to travel and I speak 4 languages, so I don't need to go just in the tourist areas to eat or stay.
$1000 a month will do you quite nicely... less if you know how to travel. It's a very subjective thing... and no 2 people travel the same way. |

It depends of course on what you will be doing and where you plan to sleep. Basically on a shoestring budget you can sleep for $50/night or less but you have to reserve ahead. How do you plan to eat? Food will cost you a minimum of $20/day if you stay in a B&B(breakfast included).
Train tickets etc add up fast when you are backpacking and if you drink beer or stronger that can also make a big difference. Based on my calculations from personal experiences $3,000/month will be enough but you need to budget closely. TIP: If you plan to call home buy small denomination phone cards in each country. They are cheapest that way. Have a great time! |
