I can answer for Moldova, Poland, Slovenia and Ukraine and the answer is, you don't have to cover up at all in these countries. Just wear what you are comfortable in. If you go to an Orthodox church in Moldova or Ukraine, a head scarf is a good idea.
I'm so jealous. I'm absolutely dying to go to Moldova. |

Women in Eastern Europe, including all of the countries you mentioned, tend to show a lot more skin even than Western ones, especially in the summer! Trust me, wear whatever you want. If anything you should pay attention to fashion/classiness, as casual doesn't cut it in Eastern Europe. The only exception for covering up is if you want to visit inside of an Orthodox church. In that case, you'll need to cover your head (with a scarf) and wear elbow-length sleeves and an ankle-length skirt. Some places may not be so strict, but many are. Many churches rent out these garments for a small fee.
