I'm still deciding wether or not I should be visiting these countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia) during my January-February 2008 winter break. Will I be encountering blizzards and extremely cold temperature and cold winds?

I haven't, but my friend has.
Will you be encountering a tough winter? In a word... yes. It's not certain that it'll be a constant blizzard, but because these countries are far from the Atlantic, they don't see the warm Atlantic current that keeps heated air from Africa rolling north like on the US Eastern Seaboard, and Western Europe. So expect 10-20 degrees colder temperature (farenheit) than those regions if you go. |
