what do you do when doctors wont treat your pain and you cant take it anymore,im disabled and cant travel to a

city?
ive had trmadol,my pain is intense,im fifty years old ,and not a drugy.

I think you need to discuss this with someone over that doctors head. Pain management is a problem in medicine, they do a lousy job and sometimes you need to be the squeaky wheel to get some action.

If they are not treating you, it is because they fear you may become hooked on pain killing drugs? That is the main reason they cut people off.

If you are a vet, you can go to the VA Hospital.

There are many clinical trials where you can get free help, but you have to be free to travel.

I'm sure you have already tried another doctor, as well as the hospital? Contact your local department of health and human services.

If you have a pattern of abuse with the med.'s, they won't treat it with pills. If not, then they have been insensitive to your needs, and you need to see a pain-management specialist whom you can work with. There are many more other options to releave your pain, like a duragesic patch, or nerve blocks, and other option, all of which should be told to you. Don't give up, you deserve to be treated properly, and to be as pain-free as possible. Good-luck...

Though I didn't want this response from my doctor when I suffered chronic pain, I did some searching.

The FDA has cracked down hard on doctors distributing pain pills (the addictive type). Narcotics is a definite no-no. A good medication substitution for chronic pain is Tramadol (Ultram). It's non-addictive and effective.

I feel for ya. It's hard to go every day in pain when we are disabled and can't get meds.

If your doctor won't prescribe anything, go to another doctor. You have to take care of you.

I'm sorry to hear about your dilemma, no-one should have to suffer in pain. My wife sees a pain therapist. She has had back surgery and has chronic pain due to lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. She has been on methadone for over 12 yrs. Her doctor allows 60mgs a day, but there are days she only takes 10mgs. Depends on her level of pain. Her doctor knows she doesn't abuse it.
I would suggest finding a doctor at a pain clinic. Good Luck ~
